Effective date: October 6, 2026
By creating an account or using Retrouver, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Notice and Safety rules. If you use Retrouver for an organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind it.
Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials, complete required verification, and use only permissions granted to you. You may not share accounts or misrepresent identity, relationship, credentials, authority, or case role.
Permitted case use
Use Retrouver only for lawful missing-person, safety, identity-resolution, family-reconnection, professional, or other specifically approved purposes. Do not submit a case without a legitimate relationship or lawful authority. Do not use the service for stalking, harassment, discrimination, surveillance abuse, coercion, immigration enforcement evasion, doxxing, retaliation, or locating someone who lawfully does not wish to be found.
AI, search, maps, and cameras
Search results, AI output, photo similarities, maps, predictions, public-source records, and camera metadata are investigative support, not fact, identification, legal advice, or a substitute for authorities. You must preserve provenance and uncertainty and obtain human review. You may access only public media or feeds expressly authorized for your case and time window.
Marketplace and payments
Professionals are independent providers. Their services, credentials, proposals, and deliverables remain subject to verification and the applicable engagement. Marketplace funding uses protected milestones: the requester approves eligible work before provider release, subject to revision, dispute, refund, chargeback, tax, and payment-processor rules. Unless a displayed engagement states otherwise, Retrouver’s platform fee is 25% and the provider’s gross share is 75%.
Memberships
Requester membership includes the tools and fair-use limits shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew according to the checkout disclosure until cancelled. Providers working an authorized assigned case may receive tool access through that assignment rather than requester membership. Cancelling membership does not delete an account or case.
User content and public sources
You retain rights in content you lawfully submit. You grant Retrouver the limited rights necessary to store, secure, analyze, reproduce, and share it within authorized workflows. You must have permission to submit it. Public-source content remains subject to its owner’s rights and terms; attribution and source links must be preserved.
Prohibited conduct
- Unauthorized access, scraping, credential attacks, malware, interference, or evasion of access controls.
- Fabricated cases, evidence, credentials, identities, sightings, feeds, or reviews.
- Publishing restricted data or using possible matches as confirmed identity.
- Moving payments or communications off-platform to evade protections or fees.
- Any illegal, exploitative, deceptive, or unsafe activity.
Account and case administration
You may delete your account through Settings, subject to authentication and cancellation of active billing. Account deletion does not delete cases. Retrouver may restrict, suspend, preserve, transfer to authorized custody, or close a case for safety, law, fraud prevention, evidence, contractual, or public-interest reasons. Only an authorized administrator may delete a case after review.
Availability, disclaimers, and liability
Services may be unavailable or incomplete. Third-party sources and integrations may change without notice. To the extent permitted by law, Retrouver is provided without a guarantee that a person will be found, a lead is correct, a feed remains available, or a provider achieves a result. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms prospectively. Material changes receive notice where required. Mandatory consumer and data-protection rights in your country continue to apply. Questions and notices may be submitted through Support.
